Transmission Assessment Surveillance for Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Program

For the past years, the Department of Health initiated Mass Drug Administration in the entire Western Visayas as preventive measure for Lymphatic Filariasis.

The Municipal Health Office of Bugasong, in coordination with the Integrated Provincial Health Office, San Jose, Antique and the Department of Health Regional Office VI conduct Transmission Assessment Surveillance for the Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Program thru Nocturnal Blood Sampling in the three Barangays of the Municipality of Bugasong, namely: Barangays Camangahan, Ilaures and Zaragoza, from July 10-12, 2019, in addition to the survey earlier conducted in Barangays Pangalcagan and Igsoro last May 2019.

This aims to assess the presence of micro-filaria infestation in the blood caused by mosquitoes, if so, the Mass Administration Program of the National Government will continue, and will be totally terminated if resulted otherwise.
