Relic of St. John Paul II in Bugasong

May 18th is the birthday of Karol Józef Wojtyła, (born May 18, 1920 at Wadowice, Poland). Karol Józef Wojtyła or Johannes Paulus is the original name and latin name of Pope John Paul II, respectively, who died on April 2, 2005 at the Vatican City; beatified May 1, 2011; and canonized on April 27, 2014.
On the day of his birthday, his relic arrived in the Municipality of Bugasong together with the National Youth Cross and welcomed by the devotees and parishioners from Cangaranan Bridge, Barangay Ilaures, Bugasong, Antique and proceeded to the Catholic Church of Bugasong, Antique, Parish of the Holy Child and stayed there for veneration and worship until Sunday morning.
This rare occasion of the Pilgrimage of the Relic of St. John Paul II and the National Youth Cross brings hope to the people of Bugasong particularly to those who are suffering from Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Diabetes and many others for St. John Paul II was known for his intercessions and healing of the aforementioned illnesses.
The feast day of St. John Paul II falls on the 22nd of October.
